2020 Mahindra XUV500 Details

A new spy video of the 2020 Mahindra XUV500 has emerged on the web. The video reveals that the updated version of the SUV will feature newly-designed door handles instead of its signature ‘Cheetah claw’ handles. However, there is no clarity whether the new handles will have lever-type opening system or power-operated pop-out function.  

The SUV’s new-generation will carry the original design and silhouette. Though, it will look more evolved with changes such as a wide Mahindra family grille, slightly smaller headlamp units, vertically placed DRLs and a more upright nose. Design bits like LED headlamps and DRLs could be reserved for the higher trims. Other changes will include newly-designed front fender, slightly longer taillamps and a pronounced kink on the rear door. At the engine front, the 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will get the more powerful 2.2L diesel engine pushing out power worth 180bhp. The oil burner will be benefited with SCR (selective catalytic reduction) and DPF (diesel particulate filter), thus making it BS6-compliant. The new-generation Mahindra XUV500 could make its debut at the next year’s Auto Expo. Its official launch might happen by mid 2020.
